Maison Aucoc was founded in 1821 by Casimir Aucoc on rue Saint Honoré in Paris. It initially specialized in boxes, toiletries and travel accessories. In 1836, it was managed by Jean-Baptiste Aucoc. The Aucoc firm then extended its expertise to goldsmiths and jewelers. Under the Second Empire, Louis Aucoc (1850-1932) took the helm, winning a medal at the 1855 Universal Exhibition, attended by Queen Victoria and Napoleon III.
