Pair of neoclassical-style columns in Imperial Black marble. The slightly flared shaft is adorned with fluting and rings. It supports a shelf used to display a light fixture or an art object. Each shelf rests on a stepped, square base. Imperial Black marble, also known as Golzinne marble, is a very homogeneous black marble used in furniture during the reign of Napoleon III. Highly decorative, this pair of classically decorated columns brings a touch of luxury and sumptuousness to any modern or contemporary décor. Napoleon III period, circa 1870.
