A rare pair of tripod cassolettes in Blue John bronze with finely chased gilt bronze mounts decorated with foliage. The base is adorned with winged female busts holding garlands, terminating in ram's feet. The whole rests on a circular base and three toupie feet. The neck and base of the cassolettes are decorated with gilt bronze beaded friezes. English work, 19th century. Circa 1810. Dimensions: W: 11cm, D: 11cm, H: 30cm. In very good overall condition, with tiny chips on the rims of the lids.
