A pair of baluster-shaped covered vases in carved alabaster with foliate friezes and gilt bronze mounts, dating from the early 19th century. The body features agricultural trophies including a sickle, shovel, a vase overflowing with flowers, and a cornucopia, all tied with a ribbon bow and outlined in gilt lines. They are adorned with two volute handles ending in rosettes. Each vase rests on a ringed foot decorated with water leaves and a square pedestal with a lyre inscribed within a wreath of flowers. The base is finished with a frieze of heart-shaped bands. The removable lids are surmounted by pine cones. The beautiful color of the alabaster lends the set great elegance and particularly highlights the bronze work.
