A pair of curtains and a valance surmounted by a giltwood balustrade. The curtains are made of red brocade fabric with a design of vases overflowing with flowers within lozenge-shaped floral friezes. The scalloped-edged valance is made of the same fabric. The balustrade is carved with a dynamic design featuring bearded men's masks, adorned with feathers in the center and corners, and vegetal ornamentation of acanthus leaves, floral friezes, and egg-and-dart molding. The curtains are hung with metal hooks, and the valance attaches to the balustrade with Velcro. The curtains were custom-made to match this mid-19th-century giltwood balustrade.
