A pair of gilt and patinated bronze candlesticks from the Restoration period. The partially patinated and fluted stem, very finely chased with a frieze of palmettes, fruit wreaths, and bunches of grapes in gilt bronze, rests on a circular base decorated with bunches of grapes and busts of men on a matte background. The candle holders are richly ornamented with bunches of grapes and acanthus leaves on a matte background, and the drip pans are bordered with enclosed palmette friezes. Restoration period, circa 1820. Dimensions: W: 13.5 cm, D: 13.5 cm, H: 32 cm.
