Restoration period gilt and chased bronze candlesticks with circular bases decorated with Bacchic friezes on a matte background. These friezes are composed of vine leaves and bunches of grapes, as well as musical instruments, alluding to the orgies of Bacchus , the Roman god of wine, revelry, and pleasure. The fluted stems feature a lower section adorned with vine leaves and waves, culminating in a flared socket decorated with a geometric pattern and small flowers. Circa 1820
