Pair of antique Restauration-period candlesticks in patinated and gilt bronze. The flared shaft is divided into three registers separated by gilt bronze rings. The lower part is decorated with putti in relief symbolizing the arts (painting, music and sculpture). The upper registers are decorated with reeds and acanthus leaves. Each candlestick rests on a high base decorated with dolphins and scrolls with florets, and a three-lobed contresocle with curved sides. Condition Very good overall condition, with slight traces of wear on the gilt bronze parts and a few micro-scratches on the contresocle. Restoration period, Circa: 1820 Dim: W:13cm, D:13cm, H:34cm.
