Pair of Restauration-period chased-gilt bronze candlesticks with circular bases decorated with Bacchic friezes on an amati background. These are composed of vine leaves and bunches of grapes, as well as musical instruments referring to the orgies of Bacchus, god of wine, drunkenness and celebration in Roman mythology. The fluted shaft has a lower section decorated with pampers and waves, ending at the top on a flared spigot decorated with geometric motifs and flowers. Circa: 1820
