A mantel clock adorned with a patinated bronze sculpture of a woman in classical dress, her hair gathered in curls by a diadem, holding a fishing net and gazing at a shrimp in her hand. Signed in relief on the base: "Paul Dubois". The sculpture rests on a blackened wood and bronze base containing the movement. It is decorated with scrolls and marine animals. The black marble dial, bordered by a frieze of egg-and-dart molding in gilt bronze, is signed "René WALLERAND Arras". The whole rests on four feet, the front feet in the form of dolphin heads. Original movement cleaned, serviced, and in working order. Very good condition. 19th century, circa 1870. Dimensions: W: 29cm, D: 18cm, H: 58cm.
