Clock Empire style in bronze chased and gilded with an allegorical subject illustrating loyalty. It presents a seated woman, leaning on her work table and caressing her dog, symbol of loyalty. The scene rests on a base containing the movement, decorated with a bas-relief illustrating the woman's lover holding the letter she had written to him, and talking to her dog. Symbolically, the animal unites the two lovers. On the other side of the dial, there is an oil lamp and a flower basket. The furniture and the clothes worn by the characters are in the Empire style. The base is decorated in sconce with the caduceus of Mercury in branches, flanked by the winged hat of Mercury, the messenger god. This Clockmantel rests on four toupie feet.
