The white enameled dial features Roman numerals for the hours, separated by gilded fleurs-de-lis. The center features an acanthus leaf motif.

Raingo et frères was founded in 1823 as a watchmaking company, producing bronze furniture, mantel and mural clocks from 1850 onwards. They created pieces for Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie as early as 1860. They teamed up with great names such as Auguste Moreau and François Linke to decorate their clocks. They won numerous awards, including a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1889.
