Small porcelain inkwell, the body and lid decorated with a frieze of polychrome floral motifs in gold-painted frames. The lid is crowned with a pinecone that conceals the ink cup. The vermeil mounting, chased with foliage and small pearls, bears a mark: "[...] PARIS" (partially illegible) and a goldsmith's hallmark. Vermeil is a precious metal made of silver overlaid with gold. Apocryphal Sèvres mark on the porcelain, with the 4 interlaced "L" and the date letter "AA". Circa: 1850
Condition report: this antique Inkwell is in very good overall condition, with slight wear to the gold.
