The "Royal System" by P. Cadovius:
The "Royal System" modular shelving system by Poul Cadovius (1911-2011) is one of the great classics of Danish design. Created in 1948, it was one of the very first wall-mounted systems to propose the novel idea of not cluttering the floor. Back in the 50s, Poul Cadovius was already working on a storage system that would provide maximum functionality while allowing the atmosphere of each interior to be personalized. He was looking for a modular system that was easy to assemble, offered many combination possibilities and didn't clutter up the living space. Poul Cadovius invented the "Royal System": shelving units with infinite combinations of a set of standard elements. The "Royal System" was a huge worldwide success, thanks to its lightness and modularity, making it adaptable to any interior. The principle has been taken up and copied by many manufacturers, but Poul Cadovius' "Royal System" is the original model of unrivalled quality.
