Michel Ducaroy: a new vision of design
Born into a family of industrialists and contemporary furniture designers, Michel Ducaroy trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. He quickly became involved with the rapidly growing Ligne Roset company, offering him a prominent role in the research and development that would define the brand. This is how the iconic TOGO sofa made its debut in the Ligne Roset catalog. Throughout the 1960s and 70s, as new materials emerged, he readily embraced them to enrich his design vision. In the 1970s, the furniture manufacturer Roche Bobois commissioned him to work with them. This shelf, combining brushed aluminum and smoked Plexiglas, is the result of this unique collaboration.
