Sculpted alabaster figure of Artemis, goddess of the hunt, wearing a short tunic and Roman sandals. She fastens her cloak over her right shoulder with a fibula. Our sculpture is a late 19th century replica of Artémis dite Diane de Gabies, a Roman marble sculpture from the time of Emperor Tiberius, discovered during excavations in 1792 in Gabies, Italy, and now in the Louvre Museum. It rests on a rectangular stepped base.
