Alabaster sculpture "The Thorn Puller" after the model housed in the Capitoline Museums in Rome. The "Thorn Puller" (Italian: "Spinario") is a Hellenistic sculpture dating from the 1st century BC. Several copies exist in Italy, one of which—probably the oldest—is on display at the Capitoline Museums in Rome. It depicts a young boy, legs crossed, removing a thorn from his foot. Very popular during the Renaissance, this statue was widely admired in the 19th century, a period marked by a passion for classical sculpture. 19th century, circa 1880. Dimensions: W: 21.5 cm, D: 23 cm, H: 34 cm. In good condition.
