Imposing white marble sculpture dating from the late 19th - early 20th centuries,after Etienne Maurice Falconet (1716-1791). Diana emerging from the bath, standing on the trunk of a tree, a sheet partially covering her. Etienne-Maurice Falconet is a famous French sculptor considered one of the masters of the Baroque school. He was one of the most prominent sculptors of his time, notably thanks to the sculptures he presented at the Salons of 1755 and 1757. "L'Amour Menaçant", commissioned by Madame de Pompadour, was one of his greatest successes.
