An imposing white marble sculpture dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, after Étienne-Maurice Falconet (1716-1791). Diana emerging from her bath , clinging to a tree trunk, partially covered by a sheet. Étienne-Maurice Falconet was a renowned French sculptor considered one of the masters of the Baroque school. He was among the most prominent sculptors of his time, notably for the sculptures he exhibited at the Salons of 1755 and 1757. " Threatening Cupid ," commissioned by Madame de Pompadour, was one of his greatest achievements.
