Set of four "Barrel Chairs 606" designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). The American cherry wood frame with its curved, stave-like back is elegantly openwork at the rear. Each circular seat accommodates a cushion of expanded polyurethane upholstered in cream-colored Moleskine leather. By adopting the shape of an open, perforated barrel, Frank Wright imbues the chair with the sense of breathability and freedom of interior space that would come to characterize his work and his membership in the Arts & Crafts movement of the early 20th century. Barrel chairs are a classic of American design and highly sought after by vintage design enthusiasts worldwide.
