Charles Eames was an American designer. He worked primarily with his wife, Ray Eames. They are considered one of the major design duos of the 20th century. Their work is characterized by the use of new materials and mass production. Indeed, the Eames Lounge Chair (1956) was their greatest success, with over 6 million units produced and sold.
