Set of six "Barrel chairs 606" designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). The solid cherry wood frame is openwork at the back. This intention of creating a sense of airiness and freedom of interior space is characteristic of Wright's work. Each round seat accommodates a polyurethane foam cushion upholstered in white LELIEVRE fabric, color "Sherpas Chalk".
This iconic chair from the early 20th-century Arts & Crafts movement, shaped like a barrel, was invented by Wright in 1904. In 1937, he reworked the Barrel chair to perfectly integrate it into Hibbard Johnson's Wingspread House. He was one of the first architects to seamlessly integrate interior design with architecture. The set we are offering was produced by Cassina in 1986. Each chair is numbered from 4253 to 4258 and stamped under the seat.
