A porcelain vase signed Jacob Petit. It features a main, openwork cornucopia-shaped opening and three smaller ones. It boasts a rich decoration of realistically rendered flowers in relief, with beautiful polychromy and gilding. The small, cabriole feet are adorned with mascarons and arabesques. The vase is signed JP for "Jacob Petit" on the underside. It dates from the mid-19th century. Jacob Petit (1796-1868), also known as Jacob Mordochée, was a manufacturer of ornamental porcelain renowned for the richness of his colors, the technical quality, and the extravagance of his pieces. He founded several factories, notably in Fontainebleau, and is recognized as a great designer. 19th century, circa 1850. Dimensions: L: 22cm, W: 22cm, H: 35cm.
