Statuette in bisque of porcelain representing a young peasant girl, signed "G. Lévy", sculptor of the end of the XIXth century. The young woman is presented in a scene that seems intimate. Seated, she has a graceful movement, wears an open dress and has bare feet. Her right hand is held to her ear, she seems to be listening to something. Her left arm rests on her skirt and holds some flowers she has picked. This representation of a young woman barefoot on a rocky ground is typical of the taste of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century for ambiguous subjects.
Lévy is a sculptor accustomed to these female representations. We also know another sculpture in bisque, inspired by a painting of Jean Baptiste Greuze, "Young girl with a broken jug".
