Four oil paintings on copper depicting "The Four Seasons." The allegorical figures are inspired by famous paintings from art history and draw on Renaissance iconography, featuring female figures against a landscape background. The allegory of Autumn is a slightly modified version of "Pomona" (1700) by Nicolas Fouché (1653-1733), a French painter admitted to the Academy of Saint Luke on March 15, 1679, and now in the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. Late 18th-early 19th century. Dimensions without frame: H: 34 cm W: 25.5 cm. 18th century, circa 1800. Dimensions: W: 35 cm, D: 2 cm, H: 43 cm. In good overall condition. The frames show slight wear to the wood.
