A bronze sculpture with a brown patina depicting a juggler balancing on a small circular base, manipulating three balls. The base is chased with water leaves and small pearls. The bronze is presented on a black marble plinth. Signed in relief on the base: "Cl. JR COLINET". Marked "Bronze garantie Paris JE déposée" (Bronze guaranteed Paris JE registered). The balls are gilded with gold leaf. Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet (Brussels, 1880-Asnières-sur-Seine, 1950) was a French sculptor active in the first half of the 20th century. She is particularly known for her Art Deco bronze statuettes of exotic dancers. Her subjects included odalisques, dancers, jugglers, and cabaret artists. Art Deco period, circa 1930. Dimensions: W: 15cm, D: 23cm, H: 50cm. In very good condition.
