A small, micromosaic rectangular tortoiseshell snuffbox. The hinged lid is decorated with an oval medallion depicting St. Peter's Square in Rome. The landscape stands out against the dark background of the box. The micromosaic and tortoiseshell are set in a gold mount. Circa 1820
