Very large coloquinte vase from the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres. Hard porcelain with gold decoration of water lily leaves and butterflies on a shaded midnight-blue ground. Neck and heel highlighted with a gilded listel border. Green triangular stamp dated 1902.
The coloquinte vase refers to its original shape, inspired by vegetables of the cucurbit family, which are not edible but are often used as decorative gourds.
Condition report: Very good condition. Slight wear to gilding on collar.
