A cylindrical ceramic vase or lamp base, glazed in green with brushed black, with incised decoration of mermaids in waves. Ring-shaped grip on the shoulder. Signed under the base: "J. Blin".
Jacques Blin (1920-1995) was a French ceramist active in the second half of the 20th century. His style is characterized by illustrations of birds, animals and scenes of daily life. An artist highly committed to the defense of his art, he became vice-president of the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva. He was also President of the Chambre syndicale des céramistes et ateliers d'art de France for twenty years.
