A pair of early 19th-century oval miniatures. These are portraits of Baron and Baroness Louis Jacques Amiot in two wooden frames decorated with palmettes and foliate scrolls in gilt metal. These two 19th-century paintings are signed and dated "H. Mercier" and "H. Mercier 1833," the first inscribed on the back "Baronne Louis Jacques Amiot née Aglaé Louise Tage 1833" and the second "Baron Louis Jacques Amiot 1828." With their original supports. Charles X period, circa 1833. Dimensions: W: 9.5 cm, D: 1 cm, H: 9 cm. The portraits are in good condition. The frames show slight wear and minor losses to the wood.
