A curved, three-tiered bar cabinet, made in Italy in the 1960s by a follower of Gio Ponti (1891-1979). The four double legs in patinated brass support the glass top and hold the storage units in varnished rosewood veneer. Each cabinet features a monochrome decorative panel in red, white, and blue on the front and lacquered niches inside, fitted with shelves or drawers. Minor signs of wear. Born in Milan in 1891, Gio Ponti attended the Polytechnic University, graduating in 1921. In 1928, he launched the magazine "Domus," dedicated to architecture, which is still published today. He quickly became the director of the Milan Biennale. He completed numerous architectural projects throughout Italy. In parallel, Ponti created many design pieces, both independently and in collaboration. One of his most fruitful collaborations was with Piero Fornasetti. Gio Ponti, who died in 1979, is considered an icon of 20th-century Italian architecture and design. Design period, circa 1960. Dimensions: W: 148cm, D: 40cm, H: 114cm.
