A small polychrome Bohemian porcelain biscuit sculpture depicting Bacchus, the god of wine and fertility, reclining on a tree trunk adorned with bunches of grapes. He is shown nude, his brow encircled by a wreath of vine leaves. The young god is drunk; he holds an empty wine jug in his hand. Bacchus rests on a naturalistic base scattered with flowers. Numbered "2827" and "35" in relief on the reverse. Royal Dux Manufactory, Bohemia. Late 19th century, circa 1890. Dimensions: W: 15cm, D: 23cm, H: 34cm. In good overall condition, with several chips to the petals.
