Napoleon III-period circular box in blackened wood with gilt bronze mounting, chased with oves and florets. The lid is adorned with a painting fixed under glass depicting a landscape with two couples by a river and a ruin in the background. The miniature probably dates from the early 19th century. Red velvet interior, in very good condition. The box stands on four leafy feet. Signed on a brass plate inside: "Maison Gouache" (active in the second half of the 19th century).
