Large patinated bronze figure representing an ancient warrior. It rests on an oblique terrace, decorated with battle scenes and bearing the dedication: "The Chasseurs Éclaireurs of Brussels to their Lt Colonel O. Tahon 1870-1910" (Lieutenant-Colonel O. Tahon, commander of the Chasseurs-Éclaireurs battalion of Brussels).
Signed: "A. De Wever" for Auguste De Wever (1836-1910), Belgian artist active in the second half of the 19th century.
