Edme Antony Paul Noël , known as Tony Noël: an important bronze statue with a brown patina depicting Orpheus , the mythical poet of Thrace, lulling Cerberus to sleep. In Greek mythology, Cerberus is the three-headed dog that guards the entrance to the Underworld. Orpheus managed to bewitch him by playing his lyre to bring his wife Eurydice back to the world of the living. The mythological figure is signed on the base: "Tony Noel". Foundry mark: "THIEBAUT Frères Paris, successors of Fumière et Cie".
