An Art Nouveau gilt bronze candlestick depicting 'Woman with an Iris on a Water Lily Leaf' by Alexandre Clerget (1856-1931). The draped young woman, with bare breasts and flowing hair, poses in slight contrapposto, holding an iris on her left arm at shoulder level, which forms the candle holder. She rests on a base shaped like a water lily leaf. Signed "A. Clerget," with the Siot-Decauville foundry mark from Paris. 20th century, circa 1900. Dimensions: W: 15cm, D: 14cm, H: 24cm.
