A patinated and gilt bronze lamp base, composed of a fluted circular base and a molding with floral motifs, surmounted by a fluted stem resting on a square base adorned with rosettes. Carcel lamps, developed by Guillaume Carcel in 1800, were equipped with a pump to regulate the flow of oil to the wick. The Carcel lamp was known for being expensive and fragile, reserved for a wealthy clientele. Louis-Philippe period, circa 1840. Dimensions: W: 13cm, D: 13cm, H: 51cm.
