A Boulle marquetry console table with a brass base and red tortoiseshell inlay featuring scrolling foliage, arabesques, and floral motifs, convertible into a games table. The console's undulating shape is richly adorned with gilt bronze mounts. The top is framed by a finely chased molding and rests on four cabriole legs decorated with espagnolettes (a decorative motif typical of the Regency and Louis XV ) and terminating in sabots. A drawer opens on the front. The top is hinged and opens laterally by pivoting to reveal a flat, square surface with polylobed edges. A green playing cloth is attached to facilitate gameplay.
