A very important carved, gilded and patinated wooden mirror frame with a rich decoration of acanthus leaves and scrolls in a beautiful symmetry around a rectangular frame containing a mercury-silvered mirror.
Italian, and more specifically Roman, work from the late 17th century. This work can be compared to the works of the cabinetmaker Andrea Brustolon (Belluno 1662 - 1732) or his workshop, but also to the workshop of Andrea Fantoni (1659-1734).
Circa: 1700
Condition report: In good condition with retouching of the original gilding. Reinforcement of the central scroll on the back. Mirror with fairly noticeable pitting and losses.
