Orfeo Tamburi (1910-1994) was an Italian painter and engraver. He is known for his depictions of urban landscapes. His passion for engraving and prints with warm tones and broad lines was inspired by Cézanne. In the 1960s, he was commissioned by Fortune magazine to depict major cities in the United States. In 1971, he settled in Paris and began illustrating the capital. That same year, the Italian president awarded him the Gold Medal of Cultural Merit for his entire body of work.
