A very fine Louis XV style writing desk with a serpentine top decorated in black and gold lacquer in the Chinese style, mounted on a beautiful rocaille gilt-bronze mount with foliate scrolls. On the top are two Sèvres porcelain pots with lids, decorated with flowers and highlighted with fine gold. The porcelain pots are marked in brown on the base and date from the mid-18th century. They were reattached to the desk during the Napoleon III period. A slight crack and minor restorations are present on the top. The porcelain pots are in excellent condition.
