An important biscuit porcelain sculpture by Auguste Joseph Peiffer (1832-1886) depicting a bather with swallows. She sits on a rock adorned with reeds, her hands clasped, her upper body bare, gazing down at the two swallows. This biscuit porcelain sculpture is a replica of the large marble sculpture created by the artist and exhibited in Champigny-sur-Marne. Signed on the rock: J. Peiffer

Condition report: good overall condition with chips at the circular base. Restoration of one swallow's wing and the right thumb.
