A bronze statue with a brown patina depicting a crouching nude woman. Signed "J. Ortis," with the foundry mark, "Susse Frères Edts Paris, cire perdue" (lost wax casting), on the base. Bronze cast before 1939. Art Deco period. Jean Ortis, a sculptor active in the early 20th century, produced a number of female nudes, all influenced by the Art Deco style.
