A large Louis XV style gilt bronze chandelier with twenty-four lights, featuring a sumptuous crystal drop design. The bronze frame is richly ornamented with flowing Rococo-style foliage. The candle arms are scrolled and deeply carved with acanthus leaves and volutes. The fluid forms, with curves, counter-curves, and twisted motifs, make this chandelier a typical example of the Louis XV style, widely imitated in the second half of the 19th century. Late 19th century, circa 1880. Dimensions: W: 96cm, D: 96cm, H: 96cm. In very good condition. It is electrified and can be fitted with the desired "candle" style and bulbs.
