A Louis XV period wall console of undulating form, crafted from richly carved, stuccoed, and gilded wood, resting on two cabriole legs joined by a rocaille shell stretcher. The legs are adorned with jagged acanthus leaves and swags of flowers. The highly ornamented frieze features an openwork design composed of scrolls, foliate volutes, and curves. It supports a Rance marble top. This sculpted decoration of vegetal and floral elements is a magnificent testament to the talent of master sculptors during the reign of Louis XV. Louis XV period, circa 1740. Dimensions: W: 113cm, D: 57cm, H: 87cm. In very good condition, with some minor cracking in the wood. The original marble top is in very good condition.
