A large gilt bronze clock with a crystal case and white marble top. The white enamel dial, decorated with floral garlands and signed "Thibault à Rouen," is supported by a crystal case and gilt bronze mount adorned with scrolls, garlands, and seeds. The clock is powered by a pendulum with a radiant Apollo head motif, visible from its four glass faces, which are thick and beveled. The dial is surmounted by a floral cup from which garlands of fruit and flowers emerge. The white marble base with toupie feet is decorated with seed motifs.
This clock is characteristic of the Louis XVI style that was in vogue under Napoleon III.
