Louis XVI period clock in patinated, gilt, and polychrome bronze depicting a soldier on horseback playing a tambourine. The white enamel dial, with Roman and Arabic numerals, and the mechanism are housed within the tambourine. The gilt bronze hands are finely crafted. The rider and his horse rest on a white marble base with a cyma molding and three gilt bronze toupie feet.

Condition report : In good overall condition, with slight wear consistent with age, particularly on the polychrome parts. The marble has minor chips. The mechanism is a later addition (19th century), serviced and in working order.
