An exceptional pair of Louis XVI style wall sconces in gilt and blue patinated bronze. Shaped like tapered antique amphorae, they feature five bronze arms with twisted fluting and attachments in the form of acanthus leaves and clusters of fruit. The stem, adorned with three female masks with aigrettes and garlands of fruit, terminates in a cascade of foliage, passementerie, and oak leaves with acorns. The sconces are held in place by gilt bronze ribbon bows and mounted on molded wooden plaques.
These light arms are attributed to Henry Dasson or Alfred Beurdeley , after a model by Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843)
