Pair of 1900 vases in Tours blue porcelain with gilt decoration of roses surmounted by ribbon bows. These gilt motifs are typical of the Art Nouveau designs of the ceramist Frédéric Gustave Asch (1856-1911). Active towards the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries, he also worked for the Sainte-Radegonde Manufactory. His "Tours Blue" combined with delicate gilt naturalistic motifs brought him renown. These vases bear the "France" mark and the small axe for Gustave Asch under the base.
