A pair of gilt and chased bronze candlesticks, remounted as lamp bases, dating from the 19th century. The fluted baluster base is punctuated by small cushions halfway up and rests on a tripod base ending in small claw feet. On each side of this base, a medallion depicting Jesus, Mary, and Joseph is set within a cartouche. The stem is adorned with acanthus leaves, vine leaves, and leafy scrolls. The lamp is presented on a circular, shell-shaped gilt bronze base, surmounted by a socket holding a cream silk pagoda shade edged with gold fringe. The central arm, activated by a lever switch, illuminates a bulb. Each candlestick has a gold-plated power cord.
